Interview with Camilla Bistolfi
Name: Camilla Bistolfi
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I am a jurist and I work as Director of policy and norms updates @ the Italian Institute for Privacy. I’m specialized in Privacy and Data Protection Law, GDPR, IoT, Big Data, cyberbullying, social networks, internet and minors of age.
I received my master’s degree from LUISS Guido Carli University in 2014, magna cum laude, in Government Science and Public Communication and I have done my internship at the Italian Data Protection Authority.
What are you working on in the Privacy Flag project?
I’m working on the requirements update for the architecture, the data protection office and the Voluntary Compliance Commitment tool.
Tell us about the tool you are working on
The Voluntary Compliance Commitment tool is a “Privacy Pact” which is a legally binding mechanism for Japanese, Korean, Chinese and US entities to voluntarily and contractually commit to respect the European Data Protection Law (i.e. Regulation 679/2016 – “GDPR”, Directive 2002/58/EC – “E-Privacy Directive”). It provides these organizations with a respected and trustworthy label that shows commitment to comply with the European privacy and data protection law, building trust in developing business activities in the European Union.
What is your best privacy tip?
Think before you “post”, read before you “accept”
