Interview with Andreas Drakos
Name: Dr. Andreas Drakos
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
I have a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Science and Technology (2006), and a Ph.D. in the field of optical networks (2010), both from the Department of Telecommunications Science and Technology of the University of Peloponnese, Greece. From 2007 and afterwards, I have been highly involved in the area of EU and national funded research projects, specializing in the management and coordination of R&D projects. In 2015 I joined Velti and as Technical Project Senior Manager and today am responsible for the whole R&D portfolio of the company.
What are you working on in the Privacy Flag project?
I am in charge of Velti’s work in the project which mainly consists with the development of the end-user Privacy Tools for the browser add-on and the smartphone application.
Tell us about the tool you are working on
I am working on the Browser add-on, that checks if a site is considered privacy friendly or not friendly and provide your evaluation. I am also working on the Application that checks all installed apps in an Android phone to see the current evaluation and provide your own evaluation
